A large arc lamp that works with a counterweight: shift the balance and the shade moves smoothly to where you need it. Jamie Wolfond combined curved steel tubes, a spun aluminium shade with diffuser and a concrete base. With a reach of up to 256 cm it lights a sofa or reading chair from above without a ceiling outlet.

Care
| Steel | Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Powder-coated surfaces tolerate a mild detergent; avoid abrasive cleaners. Raw steel can develop a patina and is best kept dry. |
|---|---|
| Aluminium | Clean with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then dry. Avoid abrasive sponges and acidic or alkaline cleaners. Raw aluminium may darken slightly over time. |
| Concrete | Dust with a dry cloth and wipe with a slightly damp cloth if needed. Concrete is porous and can absorb liquids; wipe up spills immediately and avoid acidic cleaners. |
